Crafting is of course the best and most fun way to get out of your head for a while and get a little break from the hustle and bustle of the day, and create something beautiful and unique along the way and even something useful for yourself or others. Practice and repetition are important parts of that journey, which can neither be measured nor weighed on the Wall Street Stock Exchange.

 

 

 

We Icelanders have a long and wonderful tradition of craftsmanship dating back to ancient times. And even though we are all the way down in this regard today, there is still plenty of meat on the bones to gnaw. This knowledge and wisdom can be used to brighten up the mood in the age of artificial intelligence and to take up ancient occupations and ways of life again for pleasure and enjoyment. For example, bookbinding and peasant wrestling, forging and wool felting, tanning and pickling and of course rural brewing and so on.
