The Icelandic Blacksmiths Association was founded in 2009 and is based at the Historial at Görðum in Akranes. There we built a beautiful blackmith's workshop in 2013, and it has completely changed all the prerequisites for the association to grow and prosper. The workshop fits well into the environment of the museum area and we hold regular courses there. We also regularly receive visits from master craftsmen from various countries to strengthen our knowledge and skills in the profession.
